The photographs taken by her of Nature appropriate to each item are projected before that item to embellish the performance on dance.

• The Video version of Prakritim Vande won a ‘Certificate of Special Merit’ in the International Film Festival on Nature organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF)
• This programme was telecast by Doordarshan during prime time as a two part serial on the occasion of the World Environment Day and repeated later
• Kalikoodam has now produced a VCD of this programme. It was released by the thenMinister for I&B and Culture Mr. Jaipal Reddy in July, 2005 and first copy received by Pt.Birju Maharaj.

Her recent creation in dance ‘Varsha’, - “ The Rain’, a whole programme devoted to rain, exploring its different aspects,  received great appreciation. Songs were taken from different sources on Suvrishti, Athivrishti, Anavrishti.

Komala’s Choreography and performance of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati’s ‘Panchali Shabadam’ in the format of a Varnam has received standing ovation wherever she performed including before non Tamil knowing audience.

Komala’s choreographic compositions on the Buddha theme like Maya and Parimala Madhaveeyam have earned her encomium.

Her depiction of the Swing effect in Meera Bai’s poem ‘Jhoolat Radha’ has been hailed as unique and critically applauded.
