PAST EVENTS
Komala never looked back since her first foreign tour abroad as a teenager to Singapore and Malaysia.
She has performed in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sri Lanka, UK, USA, Canada, Japan, France, Greece and other countries on private invitations.She went on a concert tour of Bulgaria under the Bilateral Cultural Exchange programme.
- Komala performed at the UN on the invitation of the United Nations Staff Recreation Council
- She has performed for Nehru Birth Centenary Celebrations in Kobe, Japan. In addition to other programmes, she also performed a special programme for the Dance Masters in Japan organized by the Japan Foundation
- She was invited to dance for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London
- She performed at the International Dance Festival in France, at the Indian Fine Arts Festival in Canada and a special programme to raise funds for charity in Washington D.C.
- Komala participated in the 19th World Dance Congress held in Larnaka, Cyprus in November, 2005 . She gave a performance and a Lecture Demonstration for the Congress.
- She participated and performed in the 20th & 21st World Dance Congresses held in Athens Greece, in 2006 & 2007. Reproductions of her paintings on dance were also exhibited.
- Komala also performed for the Cholargos Cultural Centre, Athens, during her visit.
- Komala participated in the 38th International Choreographers Showcase and performed in Paris.
- She was special invitee to III International Festival of Anthropology of Dance held in Krakow, Poland. She gave a performance, presented a paper on ‘Solo Indian Classical Dance’. She also conducted a Workshop for Bharatanatyam students in Warsaw.
