She has attended World Tamil Conferences.

• She presented a paper on ‘Angkor Monuments – A Study’ in the Vth World Tamil Conference held in Tanjavoor in 1981.
•  She has attended other Conferences held in Malaysia, Mauritius and Madurai.
• She performed in the Madurai Conference.
• She has been invited to the forthcoming World Classical Tamil Conference to be held in June 2010, at Kovai, Tamil nadu.

Komala has attended International Ramayana Conferences in Thailand and Mysore.

• Has studied three versions of Ramayana.

Kamba Ramayanam in Tamil and Tulsi’s  Sri Ram Charit Manas in Awadhi, which she has choreographed as a solo Bharatanatyam performance.

• She has studied the Thai version of Ramayana called RAMAKIEN and how it is performed in Thailand as Khon and Nang yai and written articles.
• She has been to Bali, Indonesia and has photographed the different presentations of Ramayana.
